INLD to protest in Sirsa today against govt’s ‘anti-farmer’ policies

According to earlier reports, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) had announced that its leaders and workers would stage a protest in Sirsa against what they describe as the state government’s “anti-farmer” policies. The demonstration was scheduled to take place outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office and aimed to highlight grievances over agricultural issues, including alleged government inaction on rainwater drainage from flooded fields, inadequate assessment of crop losses, and complaints about rising fertiliser prices and MSP (Minimum Support Price) procurement problems. INLD leaders, including local party representatives, planned to submit a memorandum of demands to the district administration and warned that if their issues were not addressed, the agitation would be intensified. The protest was intended to draw attention to farmers’ economic hardships and to pressure the state government into taking corrective measures.
